Classic IOR category created in 2023 by amending a specific Regulation

by Barche d'Epoca e Classiche 1 Apr 2023 22:31 BST

A real revolution breaks into the world of classic yachting after the conference "È tempo di IOR" organized by the Associazione Vele Storiche Viareggio in collaboration with the Associazione Italiana Vele d'Epoca.

Starting from the 2023 season, not only hulls built in wood or metal, but also boats designed according to the IOR tonnage formula made of composite material (non-series), launched between 1970 and 1984, will be able to participate in the rallies of sails vintage in the Classic IOR category.

In this regard, the CIM, International Committee of the Mediterranean, has amended a specific Regulation.

The participation of new hulls in seasonal events is awaited, starting with the Capraia and Arcipelago Sail Rally scheduled from 8 to 11 June 2023.
