Conditions were chilly but otherwise excellent for the South West Tera Squad's fourth session of Winter Training on Saturday. A strong turn out of around 20 young sailors enjoyed clear skies and winds gusting 15 knots that produced some significant swell in Tor Bay.

The coaching team was led by experienced UK TS Tera Class coach Teddy Dunn, ably supported by young coaches Amelia, Isabel, and Theo with parent volunteers helping out on land and water.

The morning session focussed on tactical mark rounding - in particular gaining the advantage at the leeward mark. The afternoon session consolidated these new skills with racing rules developed in previous sessions.

Sailors warmed up between sessions in the club house, with a pasta lunch prepared by volunteers from hosts Paignton Sailing Club.

Thanks to all coaches, and parent volunteers without whom these sessions would not be possible. A huge thank you to Paignton Sailing Club for hosting a great event, and making everybody feel so welcome.

The next Tera Squad event is a two-day weekend camp on 1-2 February for the more experienced sailors, and then a one-day session on Sat 15th Feb.
