As A+T approach our 10th anniversary we look at some of the key events leading to our position today at the pinnacle of the yacht instrument market.  

Wally 145 SY Saudade

Here we look at one of our longest standing and most supportive clients the Wally 145 Saudade. The project started with Hugh Agnew, one of A+Ts founder directors visiting Saudade to get their B&G H3000 system to interface to Expedition during the 2017 Palma Superyacht Cup Regatta. This resulted in the replacement of a handful of displays when the well known hard man Aussie Captain, Mike Wilson, agreed to fit the very first A+T processor that the company made.

Since then Mike has retired back to Western Australia while Rob Cummings now runs the boat. Over the years every item of B&G equipment has been upgraded to A+T including loadcell amplifiers, a set of wireless Cyclops load sensors and a full A+T autopilot.

Pete Simmonds, Head of Sales at A+T and himself a former relief captain on Saudade recently visited the yacht to walk through the installation.

Rob Cummings explained:-

Upgrading to the new A+T pilot has been a huge step forward over the old H3000 pilot onboard; installation was simple; we were up and running fast. Intuitive and quick to set up, we found the pilot able to hold a much smoother and more accurate course than ever before, straight off the bat. With the use of the webserver graphs and, of course, the fantastic support of the A+T team, we have reduced rudder movement to hold a course under engine by over 90%. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend the A+T pilot as a logical upgrade for any boat.

The last touches are being made to the upgrade with full conversion to an Ethernet network, using 24V power throughout and considering new 7 colour displays that A+T plan to release in 2025.

Saudade now has the latest and best system with support from A+T at each stage.
