8-9 March 2025
The first day at Marina Greenwich came to an end with three races completed out of the ten scheduled, under very difficult wind conditions.
The Greenwich Women's Cup 2025 has completed the first of two days. It does so without being able to complete the planned programme, with a round robin fleet with ten races of which only three have been completed, and this has been as a result of an unstable wind and rolón, with low intensity that has not exceeded 7 intensity on an axis of 070º (Northeast).
After a long postponement, the first race could start at around 14.30 hours, which the race committee had to cancel at the halfway point of the race. After 15.30 hours the first race could start again, and this time it was completed, with the triumph of the RCN of Torrevieja, with Elena García at the helm.
With the crew changes, the German team entered the scene: Hamburger Segel-Club E.V., led by Anna Rupp, a team that was to prove its level by taking the two victories.
With only three races completed, the British and Turkish teams did not compete today, but the rest did, with the reigning champion RCN Calpe 1 with Sarah Moreau as skipper, with a 2-3-2 record. The other Calpe team, with Sara Momplet at the helm, with two races completed, closed their participation with a 3-2 record.
For the second and final day, the committee is advancing the clock, with the aim of closing the round robin and thus giving way to the final. To do so, they must complete the remaining seven races in this series of all-against-all fleet races.
