Mitsubishi champion
Horacio Pavez's yacht Mitsubishi triumphed in the two races that the boats completed today and finished top of the podium in the 2014 Interclubs and Press Race.
This afternoon the Soto 40s completed the last two windward-leeward courses in the Algarrobo bay with a 6-8 W and SW wind. Mitsubishi, which had moved to first position overall yesterday, added two victories today for a total of 15 points. Dag Von Appen's Itaú finished 2nd overall, 4 points behind with Jorge Araneda's Santander in third place just a single point further back.
The crewmembers of the winning boat were Horacio Pavez, Juan Eduardo Reid, Alvaro Varela, Ernesto Kirsch, Nano Negrín, Nuno Barreto, Cristian Jacquet, Antonio Piris, Sebastián Canovas and Juan Sánchez.
The Interclubs and Press Race, the third date of Chile's National Oceanic championship, was held at the Cofradía Náutica del Pacífico. The next event of the prestigious competition will be the Expo Naval Race, which will take place on 28-30th November.
