Hosted by East Antrim Boat Club as part of their hugely successful MID-WEEK SESSIONS programme of illustrated talks, the 'Prof' Maurice O'Connell himself will be on stage from 7:30pm on Wednesday 6th March.
Event organiser Tom Jobling said; "Whether you are a competitive keelboat sailor or a club racer this promises to be a biggie...! However, any information gained can only be put to maximum use if you have invited/ordered your crew(s) to attend with you. Think of it as... 'you', later explaining the knowledge gained in, 'English' - them, listening in 'Irish'."
Tom also advises to get there early and not only for the posh seats: "We're expecting another full house."
Using North 'U' Sail Trim simulation imagery and supporting software the Prof will be demonstrating the theory and practice of upwind sail trim and how to optimise your set-up for differing winds and sea states.
At the previous Midweek Session, Olympic 49er athlete Matt McGovern provided a captivated dinghy audience with 'insider' tips at the Larne Lough club. For example, how to explode from a start - the Prof will also be delivering start line tips, and how not to lose time on the race course.
He'll be taking questions at the end of his already famed and travelled presentation.
As with previous MID-WEEK SESSIONS, this will be a 'free' event and open to non-members.
