Fresh from winning the opening event of the 2005 Prima One Design Inshore Series over Easter, the Army Sailing Association's Longbow dominated the opening event of the class Coastal Series, the JOG North Sails Nab Tower Race.
After a white sail reaching start, Longbow was the first boat in class 3 to hoist a spinnaker, pursued down the east Solent by Bounty Hunter, Sailplane, Serendip and Closing Time. By the Forts, Mostly Harmless had recovered from a poor start to pull through to third.
At the finish Longbow had opened up a two and a half minute lead from Bounty Hunter. With Mostly Harmless just over a minute further back, the top three Primas took first, second and ninth places overall in the 62 strong IRC fleet. Further back the racing was tighter still, with Serendip taking fourth place from Sailplane on the finish line by one second.
Overall Results:
Pos | Boat Name | Helm |
