23 June 2007
SailTime, the global leader in fractional sailing, will have a record number of entries in the forthcoming JP Morgan Round the Island Race 2007. Reflecting the number of new and existing bases that SailTime will have opened by the end of 2007, there are eight fabulous SailTime yachts lining up for the start of the Race on 23 June.
The line-up includes five Bénéteau Océanis 343s, two 323s and the Bénéteau Océanis 40. Managing Director of SailTime Europe, Jonathan Duffy, will be racing against SailTime base owners from East Solent, Lymington and Hamble.
Jonathan Duffy, Managing Director of SailTime Europe, said “The Round the Island Race is a key event in the UK sailing calendar and provides an ideal opportunity for us to showcase our fabulous fleet of SailTime yachts as well as putting them through their paces.”
Recently opened bases include SailTime Ipswich, based in Woolverstone Marina, Ipswich, which opened at the beginning of April giving East Coast sailors the same opportunities to ‘own’ a boat as their South Coast friends. Members sail a brand new Bénéteau Océanis 343.
Another Bénéteau Océanis 343 recently launched SailTime Cornwall, based in Mylor Yacht, Falmouth in May 2007.
The new bases join existing bases located in Hamble, and Lymington. The Portsmouth base has relocated to Gosport and is renamed SailTime East Solent. Still to come are bases in Devon, Chichester and Brighton.
All the bases have Bénéteau Océanis 343s as part of their fleet. SailTime has also introduced the first brand new Bénéteau Océanis 40 at SailTime Hamble, and SailTime Lymington has recently taken delivery of a new Bavaria 32 Hard Top.
A membership to SailTime is similar to joining a club – not only do Members not have to worry about maintenance, depreciation, insurance or mooring fees, but it also gives them a chance to socialise with other local sailors with events run throughout the year.
Jonathan continues, “Our Members not only have access to brand new boats but we are now adding much more into the Membership experience. We are developing some very exciting new technology, with further enhancements planned throughout the year and are starting to develop strong partnerships with leading companies in the industry.”
Jonathan is proud of how far SailTime in the UK has come in the two years since it launched in 2004, “We are continuing to grow month on month as more Members join, more bases open and more people show interest in using SailTime as a learning centre with the launch of the Solent Nautical College, a dedicated training business for new and existing SailTime Members.”
