Not spending enough time on your boat? Gloomy economic forecasts getting you down? Take out a SailTime Membership – it’s the future!
With talk about an impending economic recession looming, current boat owners and those with boats that spend more time languishing in the marina than on the water need to think seriously about affordable sailing. The answer is to sign up for Membership with SailTime, the UK’s premier sailing membership company.
Managing Director of SailTime, Jonathan Duffy, says: "Fractional lifestyle is the way forward. No longer do people want to completely own an expensive item such as a yacht or a plane. SailTime allows its members to sail a brand new, fully maintained yacht at least six weeks each year with a monthly membership fee that covers the marina fees, maintenance, insurance and running costs. No longer are people faced with escalating costs or the added burden of maintenance charges or unplanned repair bills, but can sail worry free at a known and affordable price. In this uncertain financial climate, it provides a perfect solution."
SailTime, the UK’s leading sailing membership company, offers the concept of fractional sailing to everyone, from novices to experienced sailors, giving them the regular use of a brand new yacht at a fraction of the cost of owning one independently. Members belong to a specific base, and have a share in a sailboat moored there, with typical costs in the region of £499 per month including VAT.
The SailTime monthly membership fee – usually less than the marina fees alone – covers all maintenance, insurance, servicing and berthing fees for the boat. The yachts are available all year round with the exception of a two-week maintenance period in winter when they are taken out of the water. Each boat is shared by a maximum of seven members and one owner-member. Even if you're not a budding Ellen MacArthur, SailTime can offer training to get you to the required standard to become a member.
SailTime currently has bases at Falmouth , Gosport, Hamble, Ipswich and Lymington and this year new bases will be opening at Chichester, Chatham , Plymouth and Poole .
