Prima 38 Nationals at the Royal Southern Yacht Club Preview

21st – 22nd July 2001

The Prima 38 One Design National Championships will be held in the Solent under the auspices of the Royal Southern Yacht Club.

We are expecting at least 12 Prima’s on the start line for two days of close and exciting One Design racing. This will be the largest gathering of the Prima 38 One Design Class since the National Championships held in 1999.

Last years event was cancelled at the last minute due to the “fuel crisis” and there was not enough time to re schedule the event. This year the Prima 38, after its strong results in the Amicus IR2000 Championships, will show why it is the fastest growing big boat one design in the country.

Of Prima inshore series Racing within the RORCs Red Funnel Easter Regatta, the Solent Prima 38 fleet enjoyed close one design competition in the opening event of their inshore series, as well as taking 3rd and 4th places in IRC1. Posted on 28 Mar 2005 Prima 38s in the Hamble Winter Series

With victory at the weekend Oz Privateer, skippered by Stuart Smith sealed their victory in the Prima 38 Inshore Series with a commanding win from six other Prima 38s and the rest of the IRC1 fleet in the Hamble Winter Series race on Sunday 17th October.
