Southampton Water Sailing Association Dinghy Series - Day 3

3 June 2009
Competitors in the third race of the Southampton Water Sailing Association dinghy evening series enjoyed good sailing in a steady force 4 breeze. First to cross the start line was William Waddington in his GP14 General Panic.
However, technical problems saw this early lead quickly surrendered to the two Southampton University boats, a 420 and Bosun helmed by Constantino Corbari and Antoinne Serruier respectively. With some good spinnaker work the 420 took line honours but application of handicaps saw the University Bosun take overall first place.
Chris Hollis, a newcomer to SWSA racing sailing a Wayfarer put in a creditable performance to finish 3rd. Sailing consistently well, Charlotte Smith finished 4th for the 2nd race running in her GP14 Dire Straits.
The SWSA dinghy evening series continues on Wednesday 17th June. It is open to members of the 16 SWSA member clubs and to individual members of the RYA. For more information, please see www.swsa.org.uk
